BEST | Energy CheckUp

The “BEST Energy CheckUp” project is a DEMONSTRATOR aiming at combining two existing energy saving scans for SMEs: BE+ and SME Energy CheckUp. It aims at implementing full-spectrum energy savings both on individual and regional level, by tapping in on existing organizations or by creating new Energy Networks if no regional organization exists. In this project both approaches will be combined to reach SME’s that are located on Industrial Parks where a local organization is lacking. The combination will increase the reach and effectiveness of both individual tools. The developed approach will be tested and based on feedback, the approach will be evaluated and improved. This will result in a final blueprint that can be used on multiple sites to create many independent energy networks.
Italian partners will work on the translation and adaptation of organizational processes to the Italian context.

In this Climate KIC Demonstrator the consortium wants to support the implementation of energy saving measures into commercial areas and business parks identified. This will be done by combining the strengths and distinctive approach of the two tools created in the Netherlands, and by employing the power of networks. Moreover, further development of tools and integration between the two is foreseen, as well as creation of a simple approach to start independent energy networks. This approach should be easily repeated on multiple sites. In Italy, Aster and ENEA will work on the translation of tools to the Italian context.
