COMPETE IN | Competitive territories through internationalisation: SMEs competitiveness in globalised regions

COMPETE IN focuses on SMEs competitiveness by improving regional policies to support theinternationalization of territories, leveraging on the local system of actors and regional distinctive competencies.

The COVID-19 has had a significant negative impact on global economic activityand global supply chains. The sudden outbreak of the pandemic has caused a severe economic disruption among European SMEs, also having significant policy implications at the local and regional levels. COMPETE IN will help to shift from the initial emergency solutions to a medium/long-term structural strategy based on innovation, internationalization and networking to contribute to SMEs renewal and growth and to improve related regional policies. 5 PPs from 4 EU countries, with the support of all relevant stakeholders, will address the topic of SMEs internationalization by exchanging experiences and analyzing not only the effects and challenges of COVID-19 on their access to international markets but also the innovative  measures adopted by territories to explore approaches that enable business to be more robust, developing ability to cope with future shock(smart and digital solutions, green-technology, supply chain restructuring, new logistics design).
